Lawrence Meigs, President and CEO

Larry Meigs co-founded Visiting Angels in 1998, to fulfill a vision for a home care company with a difference - putting caring first. Serving as President and CEO since the company's inception, Larry has continued to combine his extensive experience in franchise development with strategic leadership, ensuring exceptional support for our home care franchisees and resulting in the phenomenal growth of the Visiting Angels organization. Prior to 1998, Larry acted as a business consultant for expanding companies operating through the franchise model.

Karon Austin, Senior Vice President of Operations

Karon Austin joined Visiting Angels full-time in 2008, and is the Vice President of Operations. Karon primarily focuses on the Western Region of the United States. Previous to this role, Karon utilized her 30 years of success in the home care and health care industry by serving as an Advisory Director of Visiting Angels. Prior to Visiting Angels, Karon held executive level positions with Heartland Home Care and Hospice, Trinity HealthCare Services (formerly Upjohn HealthCare Services), and has been a national consultant on hospice, home health care and private duty homecare.

Cathy Berg, Associate Senior Vice President of Operations

Cathy Berg joined the Visiting Angels home care franchise team in 2009, and is the Director of Operations. Cathy primarily focuses on the Central Region of the United States. She brought with her over 25 years of executive level leadership and management experience in the private duty home care and health care industry. She served as the Regional Director of Operations for Heartland Home Care and Hospice in Ohio, and the President and CEO of Allied Health Alternatives, Inc. in Minnesota. She was President of the Minnesota HomeCare Association, as well as a consultant on private duty, home health care, assisted living and home medical equipment.

Scott Parrish, Senior Vice President

Scott Parrish joined Visiting Angels in 2008, and served as a corporate General Manager. In 2009, he was promoted to Senior Vice President. Scott has oversight of all corporate departments and ensures that the Visiting Angels Corporate Headquarters functions as an integrated team focused on franchise support. Prior to j oining Visiting Angels, Scott spent 21 years in the United States Navy serving as an Officer and Naval Aviator. Scott held management and executive level positions in aircraft maintenance and operations. Scott also holds a Master Degree in Business Administration.

Dave Ritterling, Vice President of Development

Dave Ritterling joined the Visiting Angels Corporate Team as the Vice President of Development in 2004. Dave steers our new franchisee development efforts ensuring the best candidates are awarded a Visiting Angels home care franchise. Dave has owned a successful Visiting Angels home care franchise for over ten years serving seniors in Colorado. Actively involved in senior issues, Dave hosts a weekly radio talk show focused on the elderly. Previously, Dave held a corporate management position at Eastman Kodak Company, and proudly served as an Air Force Officer.

Richard Bitner, Senior Vice President of Marketing

Rich Bitner has been with Visiting Angels since 2002, and is responsible for building the Visiting Angels brand by implementing strategic marketing initiatives that fuel growth. Rich has a proven track record of developing successful marketing strategies for home care clients, prospective franchisees and the national media; while also providing national, regional and one-on-one marketing training consultations to franchisees. Rich has 30 years of background in media, marketing, advertising and public relations. His previous experience includes serving as the Digital Production and Internet Marketing Director for Gannett Publishing and national consulting in website development and Internet marketing.

Dan Drennen, Senior Vice President of Brand Administration

Dan Drennen joined the Visiting Angels home care franchise team in 2009, and brought a wealth of experience in the areas of risk management, loss control and sales. Dan is responsible for organizational compliance and managing the day-to-day operations of the corporate office. Over his 18 year career, Dan has held positions as National and Regional Account Manager for Fortune 500 organizations, as well as Vice President of Progress Financial Resources, an investment advisory arm of a regional Philadelphia bank. Dan was also founder and President of SecurData Services, LLC.

Dave Plank, Director of National Business Development

Dave Plank has been a member of the Visiting Angels Corporate Team since 2005, and is responsible for national advertising and management of regional cooperative advertising programs. Dave has built the Visiting Angels Family Advantages Program, as well as the preferred vendor partnerships. He also represents Visiting Angels at national trade shows and is a corporate representative to the Visiting Angels Franchise Advisory Council. Dave has a background in the medical field dating back 30 years, working in sales management positions with Hill-Rom, Siemens, and as a National Sales Manager for Skytron.

Jerry Capaccio, Vice President Franchise Development

Jerry Capaccio joined Visiting Angels in 2013 as our Director of Franchise Development. Jerry’s experience is key for development, sales and future growth in expanding new franchise territories. With over 20 years of management experience in the Retail industry, working for a fortune 100 company, Jerry’s management experience ranges from single unit management to multi-unit management. Most recently his responsibility was overseeing sales on a regional level in business to business activity for Best Buy in the United States.
